Recipe FAQ

Can I use rotisserie chicken instead of raw chicken?

Yes, substituting rotisserie chicken reduces baking time by about 15 minutes and adds a smoky flavor to the dish.

How do I ensure the wild rice cooks properly?

Sauté the wild rice with herbs before baking and cover the dish tightly with foil. Baking times are designed to allow the rice to become tender.

Can I make this dish gluten-free?

Use certified gluten-free broth and breadcrumbs to keep the casserole gluten-free without compromising texture or flavor.

What cheese works best for topping?

Swiss or Gruyère cheese melts well and adds a rich, nutty layer on top of the casserole.

Are there recommended additions for more flavor?

Adding sliced almonds to the topping or a dash of smoked paprika can enhance the dish’s depth and texture.
